New CAE Team Leader – John Hughes

Highly regarded in the Computer Aided Engineering  community, John is an Oxford University graduate and Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 40 years of experience. John began his career at the Rover Group before moving into engineering consultancy at an International level, including Hawtal Whiting and RADIOSS UK. 

He then moved to Simpact as a CAE Specialist in 2007 where he serviced several aerospace projects which included the extensive use of Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) for aircraft bird strike predictions.

John then founded John Hughes Analysis Ltd (JHA) in 2008 and built up an impressive portfolio of client projects mainly relating to automotive safety and the development of vehicle structures to meet worldwide and consumer crash regulations. From their Oxfordshire office, JHA continued to support Simpact on a number of high profile and highly specialised, impact related projects.

After 13 years, he re-joins Simpact as a permanent member of staff. Dirk Landheer, Managing Director of Simpact said “we are very pleased to have secured John for this key position in our team.
